Last night I attended the Mortar Board “Top Prof” dinner that celebrated faculty from across the university who were selected by their students for this award. It was fun to mingle with our great A&S faculty award winners at this event. Congratulations to all of this year’s award recipients, and thank you for the dedication and positive impact you bring to our college each day. Have a wonderful and well-deserved weekend.
On Wednesday, the A&S Central Committee met all day to hear proposals from department heads for positions that could be searched next academic year. This committee will review the proposals, rank them, and send me a ranked list in April. The college is not anticipating many open positions this year. It is my goal to share allocated positions with the college in late spring or early summer. I would like to thank the Central Committee for their hard work and time commitment to this process. It is important work.
It has been announced that Shane Reeves will become the 29th president of the University of Wyoming. Congratulations to Dr. Reeves, and I look forward to welcoming him to UW and back to Wyoming. I am optimistic as UW moves toward our next chapter.
Sincerely,
J. Scott Turpen
