Trimerotropis pistrinaria Saussure
Trimerotropis pistrinaria is found in the eastern two-thirds of Wyoming and is probably absent from the desert
southwest. It prefers dry prairie sites with barren or eroded soil. Eggs overwinter
in the soil. Adults were present from mid July through August. It is a mixed feeder
and is known to prefer milkvetches (Astragalus) and other forbs. It is rarely abundant and is not known to significantly affect
plants on the rangeland.
