IIE Passport Grant
Published January 12, 2024
The University of Wyoming was selected by the (IIE) to receive the IIE . This grant enabled us to award 25 passports to UW students to support their study-abroad journeys. The IIE passport grant prioritizes awarding passports to students who are Pell-eligible, first-time passport holders. The cost of obtaining a passport can often be a barrier for students who are hoping to study abroad. Being selected for the IIE American Passport Project Grant allowed ÃÛÑ¿TV to remove that barrier for 25 University of Wyoming students, and to help them on their way to studying abroad.

The Education Abroad Office partnered with the financial aid department to identify Pell-eligible students at ÃÛÑ¿TV. Eligible students were then notified about the opportunity and invited to apply for the grant through WyoScholarships.
In addition to the monetary support of the IIE passport grant, the Education Abroad Office partnered with Courthouse to host a passport event during International Education Week (November 2023). The event was open to grant recipients, members of campus, and community members, and offered assistance in applying for or renewing a passport, as well as the opportunity to submit applications same-day to Albany County.
Over 40 members of campus and the larger Laramie community attended the in-person passport workshop during International Education Week. We thank our friends at Albany County for their assistance in this successful event!
