
The University of Wyoming Opera Theatre -- directed by Department of Music Assistant Professor Magdalena W贸r -- will present its fall performance at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts recital hall. The performance is free and open to the public.
The program will include 鈥淟e Colibri鈥 by Chausson; 鈥淣el cor pi煤 non mi sento鈥 by Paisiello; 鈥淓l gal谩n incognito鈥 by Kilenyi; 鈥淔aites-lui鈥 from 鈥淔aust鈥 by Gounod; 鈥淣on So Piu鈥 from鈥淟e nozze di Figaro鈥 and 鈥淎n Chloe鈥 by Mozart; 鈥淟e Papillon et la Fleur鈥 by Faur茅; 鈥淨uesto amor, vergogna mia鈥 from 鈥淓dgar鈥 by Puccini; 鈥淣o Word From Tom鈥 from The Rake鈥檚 鈥淧rogress鈥 by Igor Stravinsky; and 鈥淒eh vieni alla finestra鈥 from 鈥淒on Giovanni鈥 by Mozart.
Also on the program will be 鈥淕retchen am Spinnrade鈥 by Schubert; 鈥淎u bord de l鈥檈au鈥 by Faur茅; 鈥淚f Ever I Would Leave You鈥 from 鈥淐amelot鈥 by Frederick Loewe; 鈥淣o One Else,鈥 from 鈥淭he Comet of 1812鈥 by Malloy; 鈥淎t the Ball鈥 Op. 38 No. 3 by Tchaikovsky; 鈥淐antique鈥 by Boulanger; 鈥淪ong of Black Max,鈥 by Bolcom; and 鈥淟argo al factotum鈥 from 鈥淚l Barbiere di Sivilgia鈥 by Rossini.
Vocalists are Owen Adams, Grace Butler, Kennedy Corr, Jeffrey Cuevas, Haley Elliott, Diego Frometa-Batezini, Dakota Hansen, Sage Hansen and Rhiannon Kilduff. Pianists will be Isabela Araujo, Augusto Barbieri, Francine Cancian, Alisson Garcia and Renato Miguel da Silva.
W贸r teaches applied voice lessons and leads an opera workshop in the UW Department of Music. She is a Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions finalist; and winner of the Marcella Sembrich Kocha艅ska International and the Heinz Rehfuss vocal competitions. W贸r also was a finalist of the Marcello Giordani Foundation and the International Stanislaw Moniuszko vocal competitions. She is an alumna of the San Francisco Opera鈥檚 Merola Summer Opera Program and the Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program at the Washington National Opera.
As a performing musician, W贸r has performed with many opera organizations nationwide. Equally comfortable on an operatic stage or in an intimate chamber setting, W贸r has collaborated with fellow musicians across the U.S., as well as in Great Britain, Mexico, the Philippines and Poland.
