Transfer Students
UW Army ROTC offers transfer students a chance to join the Cowboy Battalion as a lateral entry Cadet. You can join UW Army ROTC as late as spring semester of your junior year or even at the beginning of a graduate degree program. You will be added to a Cadet class based on your academic alignment. Below are the requirements to join ROTC as a lateral entry Cadet.
- Be a U.S. Citizen
- Have at least a 3.2 Community College cumulative GPA
- Be medically cleared for military service
- Be in compliance with the Army’s height/weight requirements
- Pass an Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT)
- Attend Basic Camp (28 day training) at Fort Knox, KY (Prior service applicants are not required to attend Basic Camp).
