Pre K-12 Programs
UWAM’s educational programs for school-aged students include both field trips scheduled during school time and enrichment experiences that occur during out-of-school time. We provide a combination of time spent in both the gallery and the studio for students to get the most out of their visits. For more information on these specific programs, click on Educational Experiences.
Under the guidance of the Master Teacher or trained teaching artists, students connect with artists, writers, and educators to explore their responses to the exhibited artwork and the discussions that develop around it. We have two studio spaces for further exploration— the Museum Classroom and Studio, located on the lower level of the Centennial Complex; and the Shelton Studio, located right next to the museum galleries— both serve as maker spaces for students to create new artwork, using a wide array of materials.
While we strive to have as many free classes as possible, costs are noted for each class. A detailed release and medical form is required for any drop-off program (this does not include field trips or Art Explorers) in order for participants to attend. Please email UWArtEd@uwyo.edu for more details.
