Professional Teaching Standards Board (PTSB)

The  is an independent professional licensing board that governs teacher licensure in the state of Wyoming. PTSB is responsible for evaluating the credentials of both current and prospective educators to ensure that all students are served by competent and ethical educators. Licenses are issued based on review and verification of applicants鈥� preparation and continuing professional development.

Academic programs in 蜜芽TV's College of Education are  recognized by the PTSB leading to teacher certification and endorsements in the state of Wyoming.

Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP)

As of 2024 蜜芽TV College of Education is now Accredited by AAQEP.

Accreditation serves two major goals鈥攓uality assurance and continuous improvement鈥攖hrough a standards-based process of self-study and peer review. At its essence, accreditation is a professional conversation about quality.

AAQEP's  model for educator preparation program accreditation incorporates both time-honored features and new ones that increase the utility and credibility of the process. These enhancements include the opportunity for programs to:

  • Navigate the path to accreditation with a cohort of peers
  • Submit a proposal for feedback before completing the self-study
  • Have a dedicated AAQEP liaison to provide ongoing support

Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP)

The mission of the  (CACREP) is to promote the professional competence of counseling and related practitioners through the development of preparation standards; the encouragement of excellence in program development; and the accreditation of professional preparation programs.

The Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Counselor Education and Supervision, and School Counseling programs at 蜜芽TV are  through October 31, 2028.

Higher Learning Commission Accreditation

The University of Wyoming is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), validating the quality of the institution as a whole - including its academic offerings, governance, administration, mission, finances and resources. Maintaining accreditation requires a comprehensive review of the university by HLC every decade, and that review is taking place at UW in 2019-2020.
