Process for Approval: Standard Administrative Policies and Procedures

For new SAPs, revised SAPs, or SAPs that need to be rescinded:

  • Pursuant to UW Regulation 1-4 Shared Governance, the applicable Vice President, Dean/Director, or Senate leadership works with General Counsel and applicable stakeholders to propose a new SAP or modifications to a SAP.

  • General Counsel sends the SAP to constituent groups for review and feedback, including Faculty Senate, Staff Senate, ASUW, Vice Presidents, Deans/Directors, and Internal Audit.

  • Constituent groups have three (3) weeks to review and must share with their stakeholders to review and solicit feedback.  If you have questions about appropriate stakeholders, please contact General Counsel.

  • General Counsel submits the SAP and any feedback to the applicable Vice President, Dean/Director, or Senate leadership for incorporation of feedback as needed and final review.

  • General Counsel submits the proposed modifications to the President (or designee) for review and consideration (final approval).
