Responsibility to Report Misconduct
A UW employee who becomes aware of possible research misconduct should immediately report the concerns and/or allegations to their supervisor, department head, or dean, who will consult immediately with the designated research integrity officer regarding the nature of the concerns and/or allegations.
Whistleblower Protections
Federal research misconduct regulations () and the UW Employee Handbook protect whistleblowers against retaliation. Every effort is taken to ensure confidentiality for whistleblowers and for those accused of research misconduct.
